Merion Friends Meeting
Confronting Systemic Violence in Our Prison System

Merion Friends Meeting & Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church invite you to join us for a series of interfaith adult educational programs focusing on our criminal justice system.

Do we have the personal courage and political will to look honestly at our prison system and at the lives of those we choose to incarcerate?

Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church's year-long adult class Pursuing Peace in Worlds of War and Merion Meeting's Belief into Action Committee invite you to do just that!

Come meet individuals and organizations in the Philadelphia area who are working to confront and change the systemic violence and dehumanization in our present prison system. Learn all the ways we can join and support their efforts. What does our faith ask of us?

Lecture series

“The degree of civilization in a society can be judged by entering its prisons”
Fyodor Dostoevsky

Each event will be on a Sunday from 12:30 to 2 pm, with a simple lunch followed by the program. Please arrive promptly.
Please RSVP to Carol Schmidt, 610-525-2821
